Am I sick, AGAIN?!

I LOVE On Guard! No, seriously, I do! Growing up, I was the healthiest kid you’ve ever seen! In fact, I had near perfect attendance. I only missed a week back in first grade because of lice. That all changed once I had to have my spleen removed. Gone were the happy days of rarely being sick. I’m in the same category as babies and the elderly. What does that tell you? Oh, that I catch EVERYTHING!

Once fall comes, it’s like a snowball. I catch one sickness, just in time to feel better to catch the next bug that’s floating around! Anyways, I would like to attest that On Guard has saved me from constantly being ill! In fact, this past winter was my healthiest, sick free, winter since I had my spleen removed! I just drop one drop into my crystal light, or whatever I’m drinking, shake it up and drink!

I had actually stopped taking On Guard when I got a sore throat a week ago. It went from just a tickle in my throat, to feeling like I had a golf ball lodged in my throat in just a few hours! Well, I absolutely hate going to the doctors. I feel like every time I go, I catch something else! So I’m like, forget that, I’m not going to the doctor, I’ll just figure this out on my own. Well, I’m no doctor, I can’t diagnose, but I was pretty sure it wasn’t strep, no white patches. Anyways, I looked up strep, colds, and sore throats in my modern essentials book. Now I’ll tell you right now, some of these oils do NOT taste good! I gargled, then swallowed one to two drops of melaleuca in a couple of ounces of warm water twice a day. I also took a capsule of oregano oil. My throat went from feeling I might need to go to the hospital because it felt so swollen, to absolutely gone in less than 72 hours! INCREDIBLE isn’t it?! Now don’t follow me and not go to the hospital if your throats swelling up that much. I’m just a stubborn country girl that’s always had more faith in home remedies and natural remedies, than the opinion of a doctor. Doctors don’t know what they’re doing. That’s why they call medicine an ART FORM. They are just making informed guesses, and if one thing doesn’t work, they try another. And the medicine they use is pretty much a synthetic of what nature offers us. The only thing different is you don’t have to take synthetic medicine every two hours. That’s when the effectiveness of the oils wears off. So you do have to learn to apply then more often, but you don’t have to worry about your blood pressure rising, like with commercial decongestants. Sometimes the cure they give you is worse than the original symptom! I mean, have you ever listened to the PAGES of side effects they list for the drugs they pawn off on you? Now I’m not saying don’t go to the doctor if you’ve broken a bone, have serious bleeding, or an extreme allergic reaction. I’m just saying maybe you can skip the doctor’s if this is your monthly cold, and you know they can’t do anything about a cold anyways. Just try essential oils! It will be life changing!

DIY All Natural Disinfecting Wipes!

Make your own all natural, safe, disinfecting wipes!
Safe for use around babies and pets. No harsh chemicals!

I know I’m concerned about what I use around my children. My son who is autistic is very sensitive to a LOT of chemicals! I’ve found that he can tolerate the Doterra oils and smells because they are all natural! Doterra does not add any chemicals to their oils. It is just oils from the plants themselves, nothing added. They are certified pure therapeutic grade oils. Free from pesticides, and definitely no added chemicals! It’s been wonderful to use a product on my son and not have his eczema flair up! I also have 2 cats that like to get into everything! Just a warning about cats, their bodies metabolize the oils differently, so please be cautious about using essential oils on your cats! So far i haven’t used any oils on my kitties until I know more about how it affects them. But I use the oils to clean around the house and that does not harm them. But still, don’t let your kitties chew on the wipes! I don’t think they would, but still, better safe than sorry! If you have young children in your house that might put these in their mouth, please don’t leave these down for them to eat on. That being said, the worst that would happen is a stomach ache….and that’s if they decided to eat the entire roll and drink all the liquids. You’d have a stomach ache too if you ate half a paper towel roll though! Anyways, always exercise caution around pets and babies and keep your oils and cleaning supplies away from them! Enough of all that, so on to the recipe!

Here’s what you need!

1 roll premium paper towels
2 cups warm water
2 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil
3 drops On Guard Protective Blend
3 drops Lemon essential oil
1-2 tablespoons On Guard Foaming Hand Wash
An airtight storage container

Cut the paper towel roll in half. Use one half now, and the other half later!
Combine all the wet ingredients in a measuring cup, or out of something you can pour into another container.
Insert a paper towel half into the air tight storage container.
Pour the wet ingredients over the paper towel.
Close and let sit for 10 minutes.
Turn over and let sit for another ten minutes.
In regards to the cardboard middle, you can try to take it out before pouring the mixture on it, or take it out after letting it sit in the mixture for a while. Just pull the towels from the center and there you have it! You could also use different oils instead of the lemon oil to get different scents!
I hope I didn’t scare anyone off with my pets and kids speech up above. I just don’t want anyone leaving me nasty comments that the wipes left their kids or pets with a stomach ache or whatever.
